Pink Sky at 480 King St W (former location of Weslodge), by the INK Entertainment Group, has closed.

Not surprised, I've been there once a few years ago for a first date (lmao), over-priced, not unique.

It plans to become a new cocktail bar in the Spring of 2025:

The drinks will be led by Robin Goodfellow — founder of Little Bones Beverage, co-owner of VELA and the visionary behind some of Toronto’s most exciting bars, including Bar Raval, Prettyugly and Harry’s Burgers. He’s also responsible for designing standout spots like Paradise Theatre and Osteria Rialto.

Not sure if this really qualifies, but The Craft Brasserie in Liberty Village is closing on January 17, per their Instagram. Friends speculate that the better experience at Left Field Brewery's newish location hurt The Craft.

Apparently new owners will reopen in the future.

Been to the Craft a couple times through the years. I think when it first opened up it was a fairly refreshing concept. They lost their lustre afterwards with the increased competition in the Liberty Village area and took a back seat to the other places around.

FYI this used to be the old bar called "Bar 244" known for their cheap drink, across from the infamous Crocodile Rock!

"Named after the Sanskrit word for magic, Bar Maaya lives up to it, serving over-the-top cocktails complete with flame-spitting sparklers and clouds of smoke. “The moment guests step into the space, we want them to feel like they’re in a temporary realm of existence,” says co-owner Siddhaant Laul. It’s one of the few places in the city that does a traditional absinthe service—the green wormwood-based spirit was once incorrectly blamed for a string of incidents involving hallucinations and violence and was consequently banned in a handful of countries. At Bar Maaya, an order of the once-villainized spirit comes with a history lesson."

Fox Cityplace is closing as of today - Sunday 5th.

"FAREWELL (FOR NOW) 🫶✨🍸 Thank you to everyone for being a part in bringing Overpressure Club to life this year, and for the love and support you’ve shown us.❤️
HERES TO WHATS NEXT 🙈 We’re cooking up a ✨NEW✨ concept coming soon—so stay tuned!🔥"

Has anyone heard of this "invite only" pop up party concept?

Their interview piece with NOW Toronto seems like it was a great concept and the ticket fee offers both all inclusive food and drinks - https://nowtoronto.com/culture/this...-so-cool-but-you-need-a-connection-to-attend/

Their reddit feed seems to have mixed reviews...

Not really a "coming" or "going" but I had dinner at Taverniti on Dovercourt yesterday and it was really nice. Great food (people loved both the pasta and the pizza) and great atmosphere. I wouldn't go across the city to have it again, but a perfect neighbourhood spot.

CIBO Wine Bar (Yonge Street) will be closing this month, last day of service is January 25th, 2025.
They're located at 2472 Yonge, just north of Eglinton. (Essentially, discussions around renewing the lease were unresolved, so closure was the only real option)

woah what with all the restaurant closure this month....shocking

I find Cibo to be a shell of its former self.

It used to be high end italian food but once it moved past Yorkville it became very commercialized
Yeah, that's a fair assessment of the place. Personally, I'm going to keep my eyes on any redevelopment plans for this block, since Cibo takes up a decent part of the middle of the block.
