In the US the red state/blue state thing is less of a factor than urban/rural divide.
...to which I've always found a bit odd. As in, it's in their best interests for rural areas to vote for progressives, as they will more likely have their backs in down times, bad harvest seasons and/or in natural disasters.

....meanwhile, Trump dozes off during his parade:

Trump admin backtracks on rounding up farm and hotel workers without legal status due to worker shortages.

Trump vows changes to immigration crackdown to protect migrant farmers, hotel workers

President Donald Trump said he plans to make changes to his administration's aggressive crackdown on illegal immigration to protect migrant farmers, hotel workers and others in the leisure industry who have been among those deported.
"Our great Farmers and people in the Hotel and Leisure business have been stating that our very aggressive policy on immigration is taking very good, long time workers away from them, with those jobs being almost impossible to replace," Trump wrote on the social media platform he owns.

"President" meets the PM, only to blame Trudeau and Obama for Putin being kicked out of the then G8 and now G7 (but it was actually Harper and Obama). Then he ranted and slurred for several minutes about how he wants Democratic cities being targeted by ICE. Before the PM in his role as G7 president, ended the media availability so that meetings could be held.

BREAKING: Donald Trump stuns America's closest allies by delivering a jaw-dropping defense of murderous Russian dictator Vladimir Putin at the G7 summit — sounding more like a KGB agent than the American president.

There's no benign explanation for this behavior...

"The G7 used to be the G8. Barack Obama and a person named Trudeau didn't want to have Russia in, and I would say that that was a mistake, because I think you wouldn't have a war right now if you had Russia in," Trump said while standing beside Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney.

In reality, Russia was ejected from the then-G8 after they annexed Crimea from Ukraine, a flagrant violation of international law and a major precursor to the all-out invasion that would later follow. The idea that there wouldn't have been a war if Russia had been allowed to remain in the G8 is as patently absurd as Trump's claim that he would end the war within "24 hours" of becoming president.

"And you wouldn't have a war right now if Trump were president four years ago but uh, it didn't work out that way," continued Trump. "But it used to be the G8 and now it's I guess— What's that nine years ago? Eight years ago? It switched over."

"They threw Russia out which I claimed was a very big mistake even though I wasn't in politics then, I was very loud about it," he went on. "It was a mistake in that you spend so much time talking about Russia, he's no longer at the table. So it makes life more complicated. But you wouldn't have had the war. Uh and uh other than that I think we're going to accomplish a lot."

Throughout the outburst, Carney looked horrified by Trump's remarks.

This full-throated endorsement of Putin's agenda comes amidst heightened tensions between the United States and the member nations of the G7. The summit is being held in Alberta, Canada and Trump has repeatedly alienated our northern neighbor with talk of making them the "51st state." The relationship has been further strained by his disastrous tariffs, which have also alienated the other nations.

By the time Trump is done, America will have no friends left on the world stage and our adversaries will be stronger and more emboldened than ever.

No need for Putin to be at the G7 when he has Trump there to push his agenda.

Occupy Democrats does tend to be rather hyperbolic. What's going on is concerning enough, but they really overplay the adjectives.
In the parley of fevered discourse and streamed consciousness, they sound almost reasoned here... >.<
