Speaking of twinning, I wonder when Highway 628 out west to Devonian Way will finally get done. That is overdue at this point.
Pretty sure funding for design was included in this years Provincial Capital budget. Not sure if from Spruce to Highway 60 or all the way to Winterburn RoadSpeaking of twinning, I wonder when Highway 628 out west to Devonian Way will finally get done. That is overdue at this point.
Highway 60 to Winterburn should be really be prioritized with all the development in Secord/Rosenthal. I remember once getting routed onto that stretch by Google Maps and it felt pretty sketchy. No way I'd take that in the winter.Pretty sure funding for design was included in this years Provincial Capital budget. Not sure if from Spruce to Highway 60 or all the way to Winterburn Road
This is something the City needs to have developers move on much sooner than they currently do in new developments. It's usually left too long and causes a nightmare (ie: 17th Street in the SE). It's great to have developers be on the hook, just needs to be a mechanism to have roads twinned sooner![]()
On the agenda: ICE District event park, public hearings for Newton and West Jasper Place

- Administration has engaged developers working in the Lewis Farms area on a plan to widen roads sooner than expected to address traffic congestion. Pending council approval, developers would be financially responsible for widening 215 Street southbound between 100 Avenue and 92 Avenue; Whitemud Drive westbound between Lewis Estates Boulevard to east of 215 Street; and Webber Greens Drive westbound from the commercial area to east of Suder Greens Drive. Developers would also fund pre-grading for the north side of Whitemud Drive between 215 Street and 231 Street. Council is set to vote on the plan on Aug. 28 or 29.
All those costs will get passed on to the tenants/buyers.Developers shouldpay the cost, put up security, and start contributing to their renewal funds too. If they want sprawl, they should pay all the present and future costs.
Great, then people will start renting/buying in more central areasAll those costs will get passed on to the tenants/buyers.
