The permit is booked through Customer Service Permit Call Centre​
  • Regular Fire Pit Permit season: May 1 - September 30, weather permitting
  • Rates: Please check current permit rates
Select locations listed below can be permitted year-round​
Note: All locations have limited washroom access during the off-season (October- May). Locations marked (**) may have washroom availability at the Outdoor Artificial rink during the off-season. (November - March)​

It's a great park, but yes, with some updates and additions it really could be exceptional. It's worth the investment considering how popular it is. The fact that those 8 tennis courts that are seemingly always full don't even have any lights is actually pretty shocking.

Too bad we can't use the nearby CAMH green space for tennis courts, to be used by both patients and neighbours.
 
I’m glad to see this posted. Always good to be aware and like yourself, hoping for rain to offset any fire risk.
We rented a cottage in the Kawarthas, not far from one of the fires. Water bombers sent from Sudbury were picking up water in the lake we are on for two days. Quite a sight, which is something I’d never seen in southern Ontario.

So we need Tornado-like damage and flash floods?

Are you sure about that? I'm not seeing the net benefit.

Maybe not so bad but my point was we urgently need alot of rain.

I've been caught driving in a derecho and it wasn't ideal but if it passes quickly it may actually have more benefit than harm.
