I get the desire to mitigate the risk of returning tents.........

But the way to do that is:

1) Place shrubs around the trees, add mulch, ideally irrigation too, and surround with ornamental high fences.

2) Add high quality seating, with strategic armrests bolted the ground.

3) Some added, all-night lighting might be desirable as well.

I'm in calgary right now
... can confirm that the ctrain has the same exact issues. In fact it was more rampant
Calgary wasn't like that a decade ago, Edmonton had a bigger issue with homelessness. It's sad to see how downhill Canada went in a decade.

When people like you advocate for kicking homeless people out of parks where do you expect them to go?
Well they should not be allowed to foam free assault people when they have their moments or endlessly begging and stealing from stores when they can't feed themselves. They are currently a fungi infecting society. There isn't enough shelters for the growing demands while taxpayers are growing with increasing taxes. So it's probably best to restrict some of their freedom and to create some employment camps for them.

For those who support the status quo or have too much sympathy for them. They should donate for their well being and be partially held accountable for their crimes ranging from assaults committed to random victims, littering of dangerous needles, missing fire extinguishers stolen by these folks, harassment when purchasing food and thief when they are hungry. The extra cleaning work needed for their short stay on the streetcars already means fares are spent in the worse way possible.

There are beggars I seen for over half a decade. I really question their purpose of life and will they just continue their pointless existence for years to come. Always relying on helping individuals to fill their stomach daily. I just don't see an happy ending for them in the current system.

Well, Travis Bickle, that's kind of a gross. You're pretty disgusting, aren't you?

There are documentaries you can watch and articles you can read that will help you develop empathy. It's never too late to start developing compassion for others. You can even talk to your local homeless and get a sense of some of their stories. You'd be shocked to learn that they're actually people and not fungi.
