I am also hoping one day in the future they turn the stretch of Hwy 137 between the US Border with Interstate 81 and Hwy 401 into a 409 type 400 series highway. The red line I drew is where an interchange for Hill Island should be roughly located.

What's the benefit for that? I've never seen enough traffic there to support that. If there's delays, it's because of the border crossing, and the number of lanes on the highway has nothing to do with that.

Even on the existing expressway portion the AADT has never exceeded 7,300. And the piece you refer to had a maximum AADT of 6,100 - in 1989. It hasn't hit 6,000 since about the turn of the century. 5,350 in 2021, and since 2017.

I would like The (hypothetical) New 400 Series Highway to be called The "481" so it could be similar to It's American/Interstate counterpart, and maybe extend it far north to Ottawa in the future If needed.

Why? 401/16 is already pretty direct. The 15 corridor is to the west. There's little north of here, and some rought terrain. What's the benefit?

How is this linked to Highway 425?

Don't want to get too off topic- it can be continued on the Fantasy Highway thread, but having a freeway 137 is rather pointless until the Thousand Island bridges are twinned, which is unlikely to happen for another several decades until it's determined the bridges useful life is over and it needs to be replaced anyway. As for another connection to Ottawa, it probably shouldn't be another freeway coming off the 401. It would be wiser at that point to look into either turning Highway 7 into a 4 lane expressway like Highway 3 in Essex County, or some sort of partial freeway like 11 is north of Gravenhurst (assuming a full freeway is cost prohibitive).

You do make a ton of good points though, I also sincerely apologize for saying off-topic things on this thread.
