CHCH News has learned that a new multi-million-dollar expansion of John C. Munro Hamilton International Airport is expected to be announced Tuesday, which will include a new passenger airline serving the city.
An official announcement is scheduled to happen at 11 a.m. at the airport.
Airlines such as Flair, Play and Swoop and others have started — and stopped — flying in and out of Hamilton’s airport over the past number of years, but a source with direct knowledge of the deal who is not authorized to speak publicly says this investment is far different and larger than past airline launches in the city.
A handful of daily flights from Play, Sunwing and WestJet are currently the only passenger flights available.
