Terminal Construction Photos
Credit to LikeHamilton on Skyscraper forum.

I was booked on the inaugural Porter YHM-YEG flight, but since I'm switching work positions, I had to cancel. Would've been cool to get an inaugural tag and see the new terminal

Thanks for the pics, will take more routes over wall art (or covered jetways), but fantastic that the airport is getting a light refresh showing some commitment to Porter. Really too bad the USA is a no fly zone for most Canadians , especially for leisure. Maybe we will see some Mexico or DR options from Porter..

Porter adds 3 sun destinations from YHM for this upcoming winter!

Cancun - 4x weekly - T, W, F, SAT - Dec 17
Nassau - 2x weekly - W, SUN - Dec 14
Puerto Vallarta - 2x weekly - M, T - Dec 18

Not shocked to see no USA,.

Now, I’m curious how the airport plans to connect the international arrivals with the jet bridges. Are they just going to expand the arrivals tent walkway or will there be outside walking?

It looks like Westjet will fly the following this winter

Calgary - 5x Weekly (Mon-Thur/Sun)

Punta Cana - 2x Weekly (Fri/Sat)
Fridays: Outbound Dep: 09:50 / Inbound Dep: 16:00
Saturdays: Outbound Dep: 08:00 / Inbound Dep: 23:40 (Arrive at 03:21)

Cancun - 2x Weekly (Sun/Mon)
Sundays: Outbound Dep: 06:00 / Inbound Dep: 20:23 (Arrive 02:06)
Mondays: Outbound Dep: 08:00 / Inbound Dep: 16:00

The sun flights replace previous sunwing flights. Sunwing will offer the flights in their packages.

New Porter Additions!

Orlando (MCO) - Starts Dec 12
Tuesdays, Fridays, Sundays

Ft Lauderale (FLL) - Starts Dec 13
Mondays, Thursdays, Saturdays

Flights are timed nicely as well.

A little surprised they opted to do Florida, but with a lower capacity aircraft, they should be able to make this work.

Swoop offered both these routes with high yields. It’s a matter of getting the message out that these routes exist and encourage the consumer to travel to these destinations. I do think our university population will help sustain these.

I’m in the travel industry and though the expectation is that the drop will level-out at some point, the big issue of procedures at the US border are likely to remain at least until the midterms at the earliest and that is destroying the convention/leisure travel trade which is a large % of seats. I now have clients choosing flights that bypass the US when going south. We shall see!

Lover that Porter picked up these routes , hopefully they can stick it out for a while until the USA returns to normal that would be fantastic.
