On Sunday, June 29, the Stray Kids [dominATE] World Tour will take place at the new Rogers Stadium, located near Downsview Park GO. To help ensure you have a smooth journey home, we have arranged three additional southbound Barrie line trains from Downsview Park GO to Union Station.

These southbound trains on the Barrie line will depart at 11:35 p.m., 11:45 p.m. and 11:55 p.m. and will all have 12 coaches. However, high passenger volume is expected. Please plan ahead and consider alternative travel options to and from the concert.

We are also changing the length of some trains. Keep alert in crowded areas and stay back from the yellow line.

The last normally scheduled service is 10:34pm southbound and 11:13 pm northbound.

If there's going to be 50,000 people all leaving concerts there at the same time, hopefully both GO and TTC understand this and have extra service. Once upon a time they didn't seem to know or care.
I suppose with much of that GO line still being only one track, there's probably no choice but to have only the extra southbound trains, and most people going north would be taking the subway anyway.
If I was going to something there, I might consider walking over to Keele St to try to get a bus, though I'm not sure if that would better or worse.

That 1977 article is wonderful! Some prize quotes there:

This would have been the previous Exhibition Loop. The current one didn't open until the 1990s. I have to say, that after events, I've found Exhibition Loop quite functional, when the TTC has extra streetcars operating! A rare success for them I've felt. Ditto for Dufferin Gate loop, especially for boarding the 504 (503 currently).
 
I guess nobody remembers Sarsstock,which was held in the same venue as the upcoming event ?
Until GO completes 2WaD to Downsview, there is a limit on its ability to empty out that venue…. But….there is now a subway that can move a thousand people every 2-3 minutes in two directions.
ML is actually doing a much better job in the Union-Exhibition region after recent evening events.

That was a huge crowd though for the AC/DC Rolling Stones concert after SARS in 2003. About 10 times larger than this new stadium. I can't remember what the transit reports were for that one; the biggest issue was the damage to the city sewers!

Until GO completes 2WaD to Downsview, there is a limit on its ability to empty out that venue….
Between 3 southbound trains, 1 northbound train, and that there's now 2 subway stations, they should be fine.

Though I'm surprised they don't sneak in a second northbound train. Why not at a minimum, have an extra northbound pre-positioned standing on the track just north of Downsview Park and back it into the station at midnight, for a final northbound run? (I assume there's still only one track at Downsview Park).

The final northbound train is at 11:13pm, but because the extra southbound trains run later than that, I’m assuming the concert won’t be over soon enough for people to grab that train (unless they leave early of course).

Just speculation, but if it were me i would stage one or more trains between Snider South and Steeles before that 23:13 goes north. Have one sb follow the 23:13 northbound all the way to Snider South and then hold to be the last sb..

Turning back at the platform, while not impossible, is more paperwork and is less easy to fleet in the following trains if they are holding further north.

Just some sidewalk speculation.

Yes, it shows the last scheduled northbound train departs Union Station at 10:54pm, then stops at Downsview Park Station at 11:13pm. This is the regular schedule, not an added extra train.

It might also depend on where the extra added southbound trains will be coming from. Having just one track on that line limits what can be done.

I don't think there's any bus stops right at Downsview Park Station, but maybe GO could be urged to consider having a few special extra buses waiting near the exit at Carl Haas Rd that could go to the Rutherford GO parking lot.
A little complicated, but someone going back north of the city leaving too late for the last northbound GO train could eventually get to Newmarket, for example, by about 1:45am, on a scheduled GO bus, by first either going south to Union, or taking the subway north followed by a York Region 107 bus, then the GO bus.

the City of Toronto will place noise restrictions and hours of operation on the operation of the stadium
I think there's usually an 11pm curfew for these type of outdoor things.
Coldplay displays a start time of 6pm, but also with two other acts on the bill.

I was there!

If I recall they had shuttles to and from Downsview Station run by the TTC although most people chose to walk.

Heading there, they had people walking down the Allen from around Yorkdale to Downsview Park which was quite a unique experience.
 
Not strictly GO related but does the TTC plan to have extra services for people leaving concerts? They could store one train in the pocket track at Finch West, and one or two in the tail tracks at Vaughan and deadhead them to Downsview Park station.

For those possibly confused by the names of the stations, I assume it was the one that was Downsview Station at the time and is now Sheppard West? I think the one that's now Downsview Park Station did not exist then.
