From Reuters: "Carney and his office have not yet released their take on the call, which comes one day after the new leader vowed to transform Canada's economy to be less dependent on the United States and ahead of Trump's tariff announcement expected on April 2."

I suppose it is a good sign they at least had a good conversation, I feel there was a lot of baggage accumulated between Trump and our previous PM.

But, the US President has been known to be volatile, one day he things someone is great, the next ... So we'll see how it goes.

It doesn't really matter one way or the other how the conversation went. The change in global trade has already started, and foreign companies are slowing US investment due to capital risk. That being said:

Mark should bone up on some ambiguous French terms where the emperor might think that it is a complement -- Monsieur le President vous êtes un Blaireau! -- where in fact it is a French Language derision.

This was also notable from today's meeting (although of course relations with the US remain totally unpredictable):

"I'm not referring to Canada, but many countries have taken advantage of us … that has to stop," Trump said. "We are going to end up with a very good relationship with Canada and some of the other countries.

"We had a very good talk, the prime minister and myself, and I think things are going to work out very well between Canada and the United States," he said

I saw that video too - over and over again - is it any wonder everyone on the planet HATES Yankees? I guess she didn't pass her "how to be a proper lady training in boarding school....lol
By her behavior, I would be surprised if she went to a boarding school, if so perhaps it instead was a boarding facility where the attendees mostly bark. Regardless, the training didn't see to work.

NOMINATION NOTICE – Edmonton West

"I’m pleased to share that Brad Fournier will be the Liberal Candidate for Edmonton West in the next federal election, and will continue building on our hard work to keep Canada moving forward."

Fournier is a former Conservative staffer.

I would be surprised if the Liberal win here. I doubt there was much competition for the nomination.

Not like Kelly McCauley, the current Conservative is worth anything. He was useless when he worked in hotels and continues the same way.

Can confirm, he’s been my MP for a few elections now. My neighborhood got moved into the new Northwest riding this time, which seems like it would have better odds of electing a non-conservative MP.
