I've heard all the same rumours, lots going on politically right now, especially with the changing favours for the Liberals.

Ok he is running in Edmonton with Katz’s backing

Carney is back in Edmonton today to meet with Premier Smith. He will also be making housing announcement, according to Global News.
Anyone have an update on the housing announcement? Not sure when or where to expect it.

EDIT: Found it.

Today in Edmonton, Prime Minister Carney is announcing a $187 million investment to repair and rebuild critical infrastructure in Jasper National Park. This funding, provided to Parks Canada over two years, will support the reconstruction of roads, campgrounds, trails, and permanent staff housing, and help provide interim housing options for staff and residents during rebuilding.

While we can debate about how fair they were to us versus elsewhere, I recall a number of major projects here when Lougheed was Premier such as completely rebuilding the U of A Hospital, a major undertaking.

And on that note, when was the last new hospital built in Edmonton? Oh, that was when Getty was Premier.
So it’s okay then they gutted our economy especially the downtown but we got a new hospital?

I was actually around then and recall were a lot things that hurt our economy at the time, including some short sighted things our city was doing or not doing (some things never change), international factors with oil price fluctuation and interest rates, national policies. I don't fell this was all or mostly on the province.

For sure not a Liberal, but the fact that Carney is a YEG boy - surely that means lots and lots of presents under our YEG tree every Christmas? Just like Harper did for YYC.....

The reliable Hill Times is reporting that Randy is likely not going to be running for Liberals leaving Edmonton Centre open for a better candidate.
I think everyone knows that having Boissonault instead of Carney running in City Centre would be a misstep. He shouldn't even be seeking re-election, let alone butting heads with the PM to stick around.

I have some inkling, but wonder who that will be?
