It is actually very surprising that nothing has moved in to that space. Not even a snack bar or a convenience store or anything. I've said it a few posts ago, is the lease rate for these units extremely bad or something? It's pretty sad looking every time I walk through and there is no businesses established there.

I wonder if they are/were trying to lease the entire space as one and let that group handle the sub-leases. The description in the leasing brochure reads: The Stantec Tower Food Hall will be an energetic, modern atmosphere, creating a true culinary destination for guests to explore. As part of a professionally managed and programmed fully-licensed venue, there will be various amenities including featured chefs and bartenders, live entertainment, and top-tier décor.

This sounds more similar to what Station Park had than a traditional food court. Could that be what's holding it up? Are they hoping for a single lease of the entire space? If that's the case, I wouldn't hold my breath for anything happening anytime soon.

If anyone has visited the food courts at the Well in Toronto or the Forks in Winnipeg, I can see that working extremely well here. They only lease to top-tier grab and go places - think Farrow, Culina, Made by Marcus etc.

Not for long. Calgary and Van will surpass.
Your evolution into trolling astounds me. On the Real Estate forums that you were just engaging with, we were discussing how negative perceptions are a primary barrier. And here you are...

Says the guy.

Both cities have towers proposed surpassing and likely.

It's fact and this race to the top always evolves over time.

The truth hurts. Calgary, Van and even Ottawa are pulling away. Stantec is still beautiful, though. With the hopeful new tower in Ice District, hopefully it can enliven the retail and vibrancy for Stantec.

I assume you mean proposals we've all heard and talked about on here?
I’m referring to Vancouver and Calgary. There are proposals/renderings out there for projects that would be taller than Stantec, and some have a high likelyhood of going ahead.
