What do you think of this project?

In a move that would surprise absolutely nobody who has driven by the Ballpark recently, the team has moved their launch date back from June 24 to July 12.

I mean, there's still no way they're going to meet a July 12 opening date. I would be shocked if they had the building completed by the end of the summer as the envelope isn't even close to complete. From the sounds of it they may try to open to allow baseball to be played in some capacity with a limited/rustic fan experience but what a joke. This whole project has been so incredibly mismanaged from the beginning.

I feel for the players who were sold a new ballpark as one of the reasons to sign and are now basically just living out of a suitcase. And the season ticket holders who were sold baseball and can't even attend the games.

Complete amateur hour, all around.

Another delay announced by the team. This time, the wording is exceptionally interesting.

I am not sure what part the City would have to play in terms of "inspections" for the facility when it really isn't even close to being complete. There are rumours they have not been paying their contractors which makes sense given the site trailers have been removed within the last couple of weeks and there appears to be a significant construction lien placed on the property by their (former?) GC Jen-Col. Nothing but excuses at this point and this project is turning into a gong show.

This was always a weird project to me.The location, competition from the already wildly successful Riverhawks, the team name (Energy City??)—just strange all around. I can't see that team drawing more than a couple hundred a game once the novelty of checking out the new park wears off. And then what? Is it intended to be available for use by community groups?

^ooof, that's ugly. giving the financial finger to your base is an interesting strategy and probably the end of the organization.

I imagine they couldn't refund the money even if they wanted to since it's probably already spent. Rumours of them not paying their contractors and their GC has a large construction lien on the title.

If they’re refusing to issue refunds, these people should be requesting chargebacks from their credit card companies.
They paid to watch the games for this season, not next season, and they shouldn’t have been selling tickets for games people may or may not be able to watch if they had no intentions on issuing refunds.
