Saw adds with a beautiful stadium and selling tickets and yet here we are.

So many burnt bridges with local fans, but once it is done I suspect it will do well... if it gets done.

It'll get done but it won't be the American-style rurban entertainment mega-plex they clearly modeled it after. It'll be the industrial park ball diamond we all knew it was going to be.

The first two home games were postponed due to weather, which honestly is probably valid to some extent but the way they worded it screams it'll be pointed to as an excuse in the future, keep an eye on that.

"This weekend’s games against the Brooks Bombers have been postponed due to continued rain and difficult weather. We appreciate everyone’s patience as teams across the league work through a challenging weather stretch."

Now they've cancelled their next home game due to "facility approvals". If you've driven by this building you'd understand that it might not be ready for it's occupancy permit yet... Complete f****** amateur hour.

"The ownership group now has until June 16 to come up with a detailed plan for getting the facility into compliance with league standards.

The league announced its unanimous board of governors vote in a social media post Friday afternoon. It also expects a timeline for full completion of facilities, including how the ballpark owners will pay back financial obligations to the league.

The Cactus Rats previously blamed cancellations on rain and lagging facility approvals.
"

What a gong show. One can probably understand the lagging facility approvals based on the photos shown in the article, which clearly show the facility is not even close to finished.

It's not even a facility yet, there's nothing to approve!

In hindsight, thank god we let these chuds move to Spruce Grove and the Riverhawks take over Re/Max. What a fiasco.
It seems to be an ambitious project, but also there seems to be problem after problem and delay after delay. Meanwhile the decent downtown ballpark seems to be hanging in there still and doing quite nicely.

STOP the PRESS! They’re permitted to hold up to 150 spectators!!!! But you gotta bring your own seat, coz there are none, no concessions, no electricity, no plumbing - ergo no washrooms. Parking? Yeah, you can park on the construction mud pit out in the back 40…..

GAME ON! Lol

Grass is installed….so thats something….
