And the Calgary business crowd is also realizing the separatist dominated UCP is not so great for business, nor is their overall incompetence and poor treatment of the larger cities. So that may just leave the UCP with a rural rump like the Wildrose Party it has turned into.
That is why they want to jerrymander the vote.

Questions for context:

7-8 years is the hope by who?

7-8 years is the hope for what?
You may laugh, but I have no idea what you are communicating.

This thread is titled after the South Edmonton Hospital, but this message has been muddled by several needed hospital projects. There are also a variety of interests at play, so I don't know who is hoping for 7-8 years of... something?

Well with the design for both Stollery and SW Started and stopped numerous times and upwards of 20 mill spent, The location of Stollery changed numerous times I don't expect anything for at least 10 years. That's if real design docs were started again.
civil had started but that will have to be redesigned again. so My guess for an opened hospital is a minimum 10 years. But more realistically 15.

Miz and GN towers will be at least 5 years. Design, Building and commissioning. RD is about 4-5 years for a usable addition.

And then there is the expansion of Sherwood park health centre adding 150 beds 5-8 years if started now.

So we are basically stuck with what we have now for another 5 to 8 years at least because of the cancellation of this hospital and the government's failure to start building anything since then.

Of course, the city will probably continue to grow over this time, so the short fall likely will get worse until something new is completed.

I believe the Province sold the land to the City. Basically the South Hospital is dead. Stollery is the focus.
