It annoys me that Edmonton has to wear this. The architectural firm is from Toronto and the developer isn't local either. Speaks volumes about their quality of design and developments.
I just sent them a email this morning. I think I was respectful, collaborative and gave them a evidence based approach on why they should alter their plans for a alternative solution to this design.
The collective voices should get louder and louder until they realize that their reputation will take a huge hit in Edmonton if they can't get their act together -- let's join together to let developers know they can't get away with crap in the design realm.
It's funny and sad at the same time. I intentionally stopped following this thread for a little while and came back to it today and looked at the render thinking maybe some time away my opinion would change or would be different of what it looks like. Then when I looked at the picture at the top of the thread and the first thing that came to my head was Hospital or boring office building that I see in a business park somewhere.

It looks like it belongs in a place and time that if I criticized its design my entire family would be chipping rocks in a gulag for the next 20 years.
I've said this before a few years back in another thread and seems like is becoming an actual thing! Rig-Pigian architecture.
