Yep good 👍 example of it. This Spring / Summer 2026 (WS) WestJet Calgary YYC - Toronto YYZ has up to 9️⃣-1️⃣1️⃣ daily flights✈️ & while cutting back on Edmonton YEG -YYZ with a “mix bag” of 3️⃣-5️⃣flights (depending on the day of week).
Clearly WS focusing on its YYC Hub in Canada 🇨🇦✅☑️!!

Meanwhile (AC) Air Canada YEG - YYZ up to 7️⃣daily flights throughout the week for the most part- (with few minor cuts on weekends). WestJet is ceding this route to AC.
If more people are going to other parts of Canada or Europe rather than the US now, it probably makes sense to go through YYZ which has better connections. WestJet will lose passengers to Air Canada with this approach.

WS is so inconsistent with their YEG service....Just like they cancelled YUL and now they want you to fly through YYC.

Why would flights to DL's main hubs not work from YEG. MSP used to be three or 4 dailies on NW and then DL. Yes, transborder traffic is down, but not to that extent.

WS WestJet has ceded 2 routes to (AC) Air Canada.
Edmonton YEG - Toronto YYZ up to 7️⃣ x daily & YEG - Montreal YUL up to 4️⃣X daily= 1️⃣1️⃣ daily combined to AC Eastern main hubs in 🇨🇦✅ .

The only1️⃣ route WestJet has about the same amount of daily flights as AC is on YEG -Vancouver YVR -as both airlines have 8️⃣-9️⃣x daily flights✈️ currently on this route!

I swear you are a bot 🤣

It is. AKA “Calfan12” on another similar site.
It must be a bot, as it continually sings praises for YYC, and even occasionally the other big three airports, but downplays anything positive for other airports across the country. Bloody annoying.

Looks like both Edmonton YEG/ Calgary YYC - Amsterdam AMS flights ✈️ will continue to be operated by KLM’s Airbus A330-300/200 in Winter 26/27 season.

All non WestJet Europe flights from Alberta 🇨🇦will be on the A330’s still✅.

Fair Points
💯 % Toronto YYZ has the better International destinations / International flights ✈️year round in 🇨🇦 .

But it seems like alot of Edmonton YEG passengers rather connect in Vancouver YVR internationally to Asia /Europe over YYZ & the number of daily flights Air Canada & WestJet provides from YEG- YVR year round reflects that.

Me & my family usually connect in YVR when traveling internationally & (if) we need to connect in YYZ , Calgary YYC or Montreal YUL for our travels , we will.
