I remember a rumoured AA to Dallas flight mentioned here around last fall, anyone know if that is still in the works? Big hole in the network right now.
Yeah just can’t see it, the Houston flight is doing pretty good I think but I imagine anyone starting Dallas would be worried about dilution if there were both.

Yeah, AA's been there, done that a couple of times already and in the current climate, don't see that happening any time soon

A visual on the cargo hub.

I know nothing about this, but:

1. Why does the 3rd runway have to go there?

2. Why can't it be placed in a way that fits within the current land?

3. Why can other airports fit multiple runways in less space?

Don’t stay awake at night sleepless worrying about a “3rd runway,” at my age I’ll be 6 feet under for a long time before this ever gets mentioned again…..

They are trying to parallel 12-30 to take advantage of wind conditions. You can’t run a parallel runway further to the south of the existing runway, there’s not enough room. But it’s largely academic, can’t see it being an issue for a very, very long time if ever.

Figure 4 is a bit troubling to me. EIA projection even in 2048 seems to assume that our international service will always be the usual Mexico runs (continues to be a very small %) of overall count.

While the region will be made up of almost 1/3 foreign born, EIA does not look like it will be doing much to attract long haul overseas flights. Very disappointing indeed.
