Had lunch at Braven once, will never eat there again. The service was so bad, and the food was both expensive and of subpar quality. You would think they'd try hard for their office crowd. It's one of those places you're paying a certain price just because of where it is or what it's supposed to be.

I hope it gets new management and rebranding.

I understand that they want to lease these spaces and make money, but based on the vision they had (I recall someone at OEG mentioning "Vegas-north" in the early stages), I'm surprised they're just going all-in on financial institutions taking these prime CRUs.
ICE district is our new financial district lol. If that’s the case, what’s gonna end up in that former CIBC location? A Sabor?

It's a building with historical designation, therefore demolition is likely out of the question.
They could try to somehow integrate it more with Commerce Place. It's always been run separately from Commerce Place.

Separate ownership.

This may be veering a bit off-topic, but the first thing CIBC or the City should do is get rid of that bench on the NW corner of Jasper Ave and 101 St, or relocate it about 2 metres west. That should widen the pedestrian traffic (which can be narrow and hard to get thru at times) and should help get rid of the riff-raff that loiter around in front of the CIBC.

Temporary sign for Ice District's newest upcoming tenant - Servus.

Overall, how Ice District commercial turned out is a letdown for me - although a few wins in there, too.

You have to believe that filling all this prime retail space with banks was their Plan C. Truly disappointing, for sure.

At least we got Bar Henry, I guess.

I thought the ice district plaza area was going to be more of an event centre space - but instead we have OEG asking for more public dollars to activate more of its private property while ice district plaza mostly sits lifeless.
