I'm starting to wonder what plans they have cooking for that entrance once Booster Juice vacates their existing space.
With the Valley Line LRT now up and running, maybe it will be converted into a plaza or something like that?
Is Booster Juice actually closing that space or is this to replace the other space they closed nearby a while ago?

UNCEDED: Voices of the Land

Led by the world renowned “Contemporary Master of Architecture” and traditional Elder Douglas Cardinal, UNCEDED showcases the works and worldview of 18 prominent Indigenous architects and designers from across Turtle Island who share an Indigenous vision for the future of our human family.

A grandmother’s warm welcome greets each visitor to the exhibit before they are guided through an immersive, world-class audio-visual experience that pivots on four thematic metaphors: indigeneity, resilience, sovereignty, and colonization.

UNCEDED: Voices of the Land demonstrates that Indigenous cultures, inscribed within the laws, customs and traditions of their peoples, have a profound contribution to make to the world, as seen through the storytelling of the architects.

Visitors are engaged with spectacular depictions of nature, stunning visual effects, and architects presenting as life size speakers. They can then take the time to absorb Indigenous history through full-length documentaries as the heartbeat of powwow drumming guides them through curving walls, as if along a river.

Don't miss out on this incredible opportunity from March 8 to June 21.

Passed by today and seems like they're preparing the retail space next to Dreamscape Designs by the Manulife pedway for something. Lights are on, but don't think it's routine maintenance. Could be wrong though.

Yes, I have also seen activity in there several times over the last few weeks so I am hoping something is happening. Another clue for me is H&R took that spot temporarily for the last several years, but this year has another spot.

They are relocating to the pedway next to Cookies by George. Smaller space as they don't need that much. I am still confused that they pulled out from the Edmonton Tower as it always seemed busy every time I walked by and that it was less than 650SF.

That confused and surprised me to, it seemed to be a good spot. There are a lot of people between the Edmonton Tower, Stantec and the two nearby big hotels and that spot is much closer for all of them than the City Centre pedway.

I hope some local film maker or NFB creates a documentary on UNCEDED and NETFLIX pick it up.
If you know anyone who may be interested, we are all ears! Lewis Cardinal is working on a documentary specifically on Douglas Cardinal right now, and UNCEDED is a component of this, but not directly on the exhibit itself.

Experts are saying the closure of the Bay is offering the opportunity to reimagine some big mall spaces for perhaps other uses.

We've had a big head start but so far not too much imagination. Hopefully discussions are happening on something.
