^nice. but unit B1 (2 bedroom) has no front door unless you count a sliding patio door that opens directly into the living room with no closet for coats and a second bedroom with no closet. probably appeals to someone I guess.
These buildings are 3 floors with no basements, so I suspect the stairs that are shown go down to a front door and very small entryway on the main floor, then the apartment is on the second and third floor.

I had a friend with a stacked townhouse like that in Summerside. I always thought it was strange but it (sorta) worked.

I took these pictures throughout the week.

Encore's new townhomes by the park. I didn't take any shots of Streetside's bungalows, but they're starting to put the siding on.

Some of those pictures were definitely taken early this week before the smoke rolled in...

I really want to see what is going to happen with the front of those new Encore homes facing the pond. They are VERY high and close to the property line to my eye. There is going to need to be quite a set of stairs down to the level of the park...

Those low slanted roofs are fascinating. I've never seen a build like that, does anyone have any renders for how that will look once completed? Can't see anything that resembles it on Encore's site.

These are the Kensington models on Encore's website - no renders showing those roofs. They will be very ideal for solar though!

If you mean the ones placed on the main floor, I think those are just prefab roofs that will be lifted into the adjacent building.

That makes a lot more sense now that I think about it, thanks. It just looked very 'complete' on a quick glance

Off-site construction is the solution to the housing shortage imo. Paired with lowered development charges and municipal red tape, it could bring back the kind of supply rush we've not seen in decades.

This company is doing good things for Blatchford! They appear to be working on all of the Landmark and Encore homes now. The pace is awesome. Let's hope they are involved in a 4-6 storey build soon!

Stopped by the block party at Blatchford today. A couple of things:

- EcoDen is planning to break ground on their mixed-use in the next 2-3 weeks!

- Crimson Cove is planning to start their first multi-unit building in September or October (next to the roundabout)

- There were renderings of the City’s plan for the base of the control tower.

Overall, lots of activity and interest. Great to see.

One of the new determinants of gentle density.

This is one of the things that does bother me about the neighbourhood, and which seems a mismatch for the density. The whole pneumatic tube trash collection thing was definitely a bridge too far, but the usual trash collection method is extremely suburbia oriented, and the density is enough that our alleys are absolutely packed with bins, especially where many houses are actually three different units with their own pair of bins each, plus recycling bags to put out on trash days.

Something like this solution used in Amsterdam would be rather apt when this is the lowest density in the neighbourhood.
