Aviation museum in Edmonton close to buying its historic home
An Edmonton museum is close to owning its longtime home, which is a part of Canadian war history.
Patio door entrances as main doors will no longer be permitted under the minimum design standards coming forward from the City at the end of this month.^nice. but unit B1 (2 bedroom) has no front door unless you count a sliding patio door that opens directly into the living room with no closet for coats and a second bedroom with no closet. probably appeals to someone I guess.
These buildings are 3 floors with no basements, so I suspect the stairs that are shown go down to a front door and very small entryway on the main floor, then the apartment is on the second and third floor.^nice. but unit B1 (2 bedroom) has no front door unless you count a sliding patio door that opens directly into the living room with no closet for coats and a second bedroom with no closet. probably appeals to someone I guess.
I hope they can get a really good head start on servicing these lands this year, if they haven't started already. I know they are working hard on the lands between this and the current development, but with the pace of townhouse construction now they will quickly run out of plots to build on (for townhomes - multi-family is obviously a different story).
Those low slanted roofs are fascinating. I've never seen a build like that, does anyone have any renders for how that will look once completed? Can't see anything that resembles it on Encore's site.Encore's new townhomes by the park. I didn't take any shots of Streetside's bungalows, but they're starting to put the siding on.

These are the Kensington models on Encore's website - no renders showing those roofs. They will be very ideal for solar though! Those low slanted roofs are fascinating. If you mean the ones placed on the main floor, I think those are just prefab roofs that will be lifted into the adjacent building. Those low slanted roofs are fascinating. That makes a lot more sense now that I think about it, thanks. It just looked very 'complete' on a quick glanceIf you mean the ones placed on the main floor, I think those are just prefab roofs that will be lifted into the adjacent building.
Off-site construction is the solution to the housing shortage imo. Paired with lowered development charges and municipal red tape, it could bring back the kind of supply rush we've not seen in decades.![]()

This company is doing good things for Blatchford! They appear to be working on all of the Landmark and Encore homes now. The pace is awesome. Let's hope they are involved in a 4-6 storey build soon!Off-site construction is the solution to the housing shortage imo.
