Before @Andy_in_Toronto or @TwoWheelPoli get too depressed, this is also out today:

I just want to mention that Danforth ave between Main st and Victoria Park is complete hell. Traffic merged to 1 lane each way, and potholes that can swallow a wheel. Brought memories of high adrenaline biking from decade ago. Won't repeat.

Bike lanes are no longer coming to Eglinton near term, but they DID do the resurfacing last year, which makes a difference for those willing to brave the traffic hell between Chaplin and Keele. Combining aggressive drivers with washerboard road and pothole hell was diabolical.

That said, I rode the full stretch yesterday and found the resurfacing stops west of Dufferin where you have to become a rodeo bull rider for a while until past Caledonia, when it returns. A fairly short stretch but also a very busy and dangerous one.

I saw some pylons near Caledonia, which made me wonder if the repaving was impending here. But on TOInview all I can see are the cruel reminder of the bike lanes that are now cancelled.

Does anyone know why this area wasn't redone, and whether it will be soon?

Eglinton from Dufferin in the East to Gilbert in the West is currently programmed for Major Road Resurfacing, safety improvements and cycle tracks in 2033.

I disagree, if any reasonable person saw an area to drive in that is not demarcated, has no bike lane signs, flexi-post barriers or markings that say it is a bike lane, they would think it is a road median. If you gave anyone that picture above without context, they would say that’s a roadway median. Give it actual indication it’s a bike lane and people will learn.
Regarding The Esplanade at Yonge. The drivers should keep the solid yellow dividing line on their left going east or west.
