I'm trying to understand what your neat animated profile photo means.

Thanks for asking my friend! It actually shows the expansion of the shared-use path network and district bike routes between 2024-26 utilizing the $100 million dollar municipal investment. Pretty cool, huh? 😍

These photos are from Sunday of the new ped Bridge near Terwilligar interchange. The second beam was parked on the off ramp. Might be up by now. Photos courtesy of my wife.

Good to see the biking numbers trending well so far this spring. I wonder if we're close to the HLB starting to hit 2000/day occasionally. A handful of routes are consistently doing 1000+ which is great to see. Now we just need more missing links filled in and feeder routes onto the main ones built out. 107ave and 95ave on the west end will both be critical additions to the network connecting the west end to 102ave into DT.

If you're opposed to the UCP removing some of Edmonton's bike lanes (132 Ave, 100 Ave downtown and two undisclosed ones that they have identified), then please sign this letter by a few of Edmonton's active transportation groups. It's going to Dreeshen and Smith.

Campaign also happening in Calgary. The spring session ends next week and it is thought new legislation is being considered.

On the north side, they've resumed work on the Fort Road/Manning Drive shared use path ripping up sidewalk from Bartle & Gibson towards 137 Ave, some new utility locate flags, and a new pedestrian signal bagged up at Manning Drive South and 142 Ave.

153 Ave also has utility locates and tree protection fences.

These are both projects from the 2024 list. I haven't noticed any 2025 work starting yet.
