Oh for goodness sake, they are kids not seniors, they can make it a few blocks to the transit centre at the mall..City is still kicking itself for not building a stop at Ainley HS.

Nothing about the design screams fancy to me?Why are they doing such a fancy design for the station? I’ve always thought it should be more barebones like McKernan, since it’s not much more than a local neighbourhood stop.
Harry ainlay 100% should have had a stopStill a stupid idea to have a station there, especially when residents didn’t want it, and it’s only a 5 minute bus ride to century park? Could have saved the money to elevate heritage valley station. Reminds me of when they tried to put a stop at harry ainlay. Thank god that failed, too bad it didn’t here.
It’s probably at least 15-30min of walking from Greenfield, Royal Gardens, Duggan etc. to Southgate station, too. Not the most convenient, and requires crossing busy roads with inattentive drivers.Lots of trip generator opportunities around 40 Avenue tho
I seem to recall that @Airboy mentioned something about a “20ish storey tower” being planned for the old 7/11 on the corner of SaddlebackMy guess is that the Twin Brooks station is going to be the catalyst for higher density in the area.
Plus I remember that federal funding was contingent on there being two stations.
Yup...and it was being done by Alldritt, I believe...and someone else said it had a good chance to be going forward.I seem to recall that @Airboy mentioned something about a “20ish storey tower” being planned for the old 7/11 on the corner of Saddleback
The additional costs to add a station are so minimal vs the entire project. My guess is that the Twin Brooks station is going to be the catalyst for higher density in the area.

Unless the station was at 37 Ave, it would've been pointless for these places anyways, but wouldn't have made much of a difference for Ainlay students. It’s probably at least 15-30min of walking from Greenfield, Royal Gardens, Duggan etc. to Southgate station, too. Just north of 40th ave should have been the station.Unless the station was at 37 Ave, it would've been pointless for these places anyways, but wouldn't have made much of a difference for Ainlay students.
Hello no. That would have been the worst thing ever. I just waited 10 minutes at 1 light by 40th because of the terrible signal priority. I couldn’t imagine how bad it would be if the station was there. Plus it’s a 5 minute walk? Not even to Southgate. Would have ruined the neighborhood too like it almost did to Melmo with all the homeless around the stationCity is still kicking itself for not building a stop at Ainley HS.
