Still a stupid idea to have a station there, especially when residents didn’t want it, and it’s only a 5 minute bus ride to century park? Could have saved the money to elevate heritage valley station. Reminds me of when they tried to put a stop at harry ainlay. Thank god that failed, too bad it didn’t here.
Harry ainlay 100% should have had a stop

Twin Brooks will be ok although it would have been nice if they could have decided on another station further south.

Also I wonder when another north station gets built at the very other end of the line

My guess is that the Twin Brooks station is going to be the catalyst for higher density in the area.

Plus I remember that federal funding was contingent on there being two stations.
I seem to recall that @Airboy mentioned something about a “20ish storey tower” being planned for the old 7/11 on the corner of Saddleback

The additional costs to add a station are so minimal vs the entire project.

If you’re going right past the area, it makes sense. Especially with the size of gap between century and heritage.

Twins brooks will likely be one of the lowest boardings per station though.

It’s probably at least 15-30min of walking from Greenfield, Royal Gardens, Duggan etc. to Southgate station, too. Not the most convenient, and requires crossing busy roads with inattentive drivers.
Unless the station was at 37 Ave, it would've been pointless for these places anyways, but wouldn't have made much of a difference for Ainlay students.

Just north of 40th ave should have been the station.

Ainlay (2700+ students), Louis st Laurent (1500+ students), Confed leisure centre.

Confed is also a district park with tons of tennis, baseball, soccer, etc.

Just east are 11 apartment buildings in Rideau park. Likely could all be redeveloped in the years ahead.

119-106st has a nice greenway MUP that’d directly feed the station too.

Hopefully they add it one day!

City is still kicking itself for not building a stop at Ainley HS.
Hello no. That would have been the worst thing ever. I just waited 10 minutes at 1 light by 40th because of the terrible signal priority. I couldn’t imagine how bad it would be if the station was there. Plus it’s a 5 minute walk? Not even to Southgate. Would have ruined the neighborhood too like it almost did to Melmo with all the homeless around the station
