The hotel only goes up to 22nd floor. Most highrise hotels are like that, pretty sure Residence Inn in the Beltline is the same.

Wouldn't be surprised if the Stampede Station site had a more upscale business hotel (JW, Conrad or Grand Hyatt), while the currently announced hotel is more a boutique brand.

This project even if it's a boutique hotel is definitely on the luxury side with the attached 15,000 sqft ballroom, indoor pool and fitness centre, and rooftop pool.

I'd think Broadway or Stampede Station are more likely before City Centre 2. It'll need to be mixed use, and I doubt anyone is proposing any additional office space in Calgary, and that location isn't that ideal for residential imo.

North end of downtown has always struggled as a speculative office building district, parking of the speculative parking lot "ring" of the office core. Inflated and distorted expectations based on a 1980s office model really messed with the area's developability.

As things change there's lots of different possibilities in the future. North of 4th Avenue, it would be great to see even 6 storey infill to create a low/mid rise (but still urban and dense) couple block to transition from the River to the office core. We should stop hoping multi-phase, multi-tower mega projects will be able to save us.

I don't remember a hotel being in plan, but wouldn't be surprised it's added. Close to lots of amenities and walking distance to the Stampede/BMO. If I was going to a convention I'd much rather stay there than right on the grounds.

I agree. A hotel at what's arguably the Beltline's epicenter would be great.

Agreed! I always find it strange that we have no hotels on 17th

We have a Best Western on 8th street and 14th ave SW. It'd be nice to a have another hotel or two in proximity of 17th ave and 4th street or 17th ave and 8th street. So many people stay in the CBD and think that's where Calgary's main hotspot is supposed to be.
