It’s arriving a bit late today so I couldn’t hang around to see its arrival! Hope some of you will be able to catch the arrival and post it?

I was able to quickly pop out to catch the arrival. It's one great looking aircraft, that's for sure.

Domestic 1,005,131 +4.9% [YTD: 3,742, 297 +4.4%]
Transborder 250,712 -6.1% [YTD: 991,985 -9.5%]
International 228,773 +4.7% [YTD: 934,397 +8.3%]

April 2026 total: 1,484,616 +2.8%
2026 YTD: 5,650,679 +2.3%

A gain of 151,901 passengers after 4 months. If the current rate continued it would put the yearly total just under 20 Million. We are also coming into summer and May/Jun/Jul/Aug/Sept are the busiest, so who knows, maybe 20 million is reachable this year.

20 million might be tough this year since airlines are reducing their schedule on less profitable routes with the current oil price. Westjet is doing quite a lot of seat reconfiguration that they're not running their full fleet right now. With the Max 10 likely getting approved this year, Westjet capacity is going to grow quite a bit in the coming years.

Been around the block for a while so I know some of these numbers.

YYC-ZRH in the A340 was somewhere around 65t of fuel. The A350 cuts that to 50-55t.

Based on current fuel prices, i.e. nearly double since last year, Edelweiss is saving about $15-20k per flight, or $40k for the round trip.

Of course, you have to factor in the capital cost of buying the airplane which lists for over $300 million, but rest assured Lufthansa Group did not pay anywhere near that given the number of planes they ordered.
