Claridge builds multiple towers so often, I was very surprised when they didn't both LeBreton Ascent towers at once.

That one will always be a mystery to me. They have the capital, and the site prep has already begun. Maybe they had planned to build it but uncertainty about the economy, high cost of materials, fluctuations in interest rates, and a looming federal election with possible benefits for developers on the horizon during the construction of phase 1 caused them to hold back until the dust settles.

Forgot to post this earlier, first floor has risen. Taken on November 1st:
Looks like some residents of the Major Apartments might have a Parliament view for around 7 minutes before it's blocked

The mayor should be happy lots of people will be living downtown.
This isn't 'Downtown', this is 'Ottawa's Original Downtown', at least according to the banner signs on the light poles all the way down Rideau Street lately
Residential tower is going up to the second floor now
Second floor of the residential tower is going up, the Andaz extension is above grade.

Didn't get a great look at it, but from Dalhousie it looked like it was just being used a staging for the residential build since there were a bunch of forms stacked

Anybody sure of what design, format or height we're getting here?
Based on the hotel's renderings that show the apartment building behind, seems to be the same proposal as in 2013, so 23fl/70m.
