This project isn't moving along as fast as some other similar buildings that started around the same time. See pic posted above three months ago versus now.

Seems like they are using an unusual building technique, they’ve got the second floor up in lots of spots without much of any supports, just temporary braces

I find it odd that the eastern half of the first floor is concrete construction while the rest of the build is sticks. is that a req. for CRUs?

My guess is the concrete slab affords a bigger span for open retail area and also a better sound barrier between retail and residential units.

Has anybody heard any plans for the lot to the northeast of this one? Just south of 104 ave on the east side of 116 street. It was rezoned to allow for a 20 storey building a year ago, and they’ve already tore down the house that was on the lot.

This building really densifies the view coming in from the north and driving south on 116th. Another 6 storey where they have their staging area would do wonders for the look.
