Rezoning proposal for the site of the General Apartments around 100 Ave and 111 St, owned by Leston. Personally, I always thought this building was an understated beauty, and there are plenty of Wihkwentowin low-rises I'd rather see torn down.

I've always been partial to this one as well, mind you, the interiors are far from anything of substance and do not reflect the exterior.

That said, the basic but effective form on this one has charm.

Agreed as well. We have an entire square block sitting vacant 1 block south and 1 block west of this little beauty - the Erik Cornack Center property. Vacant for a decade now?

We don't really build with brick anymore. Hopefully it isn't being bulldozed to make way for grey-beige cube.

It seems like this could form the base of a larger structure with a little thoughtful planning. That in lieu of a tear-down.

I work right by there and saw that Reno taking place. What a waste of a good building. They didn’t honour its history or come close to realizing the potential of that location. Looks like they just used the cheapest materials thinking they could flip it quickly due to the location. What a shame

This house, which should be one of the most desirable in the city, is scheduled for inspection as a potential threat to public safety. What a mess.
