All of these companies that are in the cadence consortium are either based out of montreal or paris.Nothing screams conflict of interest or political motivations more than that

Would be awesome if VIA bought these, refurbed them and used them throughout the network.
Another alternative would be for MX to buy some of them and use them for the Cambridge/Fergus plans, or maybe more frequent service on the Richmond Hill GO line. Would need high platforms though.
