The city, I do not care which branch, council or Trans-Ed, need to put gates at this high traffic, high speed intersection. 'Urban style trams' is clearly not working in this location. What is it going to take ? A truck smashing into the train and killing people. Look at all the emissions that are being generated when the train gets hit , you would think this would spur action.
I sort of understand the reluctance to deal with this, after all it costs money, takes time and effort. So I suppose it is easier to ignore it, or just moralize about how people should behave, rather than deal with how they actually do, but it doesn't help resolve things.

On the other hand, the downtown farmer's market starts tomorrow. I can only imagine what a gong show this may be.
I’m sure Marigold is aware of the gong show too, which is probably why the 104 Street tracks are being done first. I also saw boards west of the intersection so places like Cosmic Pizza and the Fox Towers can have access.

Took the train this evening north from MTC . Train operator was honking before crossing intersections. I think the operator forgot during the first stretch until after crossing Whitemud.
That didn't happen this morning but that operator was slowing down before each major intersection. It's annoying to hear the honk but I'd rather that action be taken if it can help. Being cautious is always a good thing. Now if the drivers can do the same....
There were a couple of workers at the crash site this morning. Not sure what they were up to.. Lol..
Serious question though why can't they put some temporary markings and move the right turns back immediately ? A big White X. Push the cars way back as someone here suggested.
