I'm late posting this, but starting March 3 the utility work along 104 Ave, between 109 St. and 124 St., massively expanded – both in terms of area closed off (which now includes the adjacent sidewalk), and in terms of number of people working on site. I used to see just three or four people there at a time, but now there's probably a dozen or more. They also seem to be working slightly longer - stopping work at around 5pm, whereas they were previously gone by then.

These pics are from March 7, and it's worth noting that the area dug by the excevator in the first pic is now covered with an orange tarp (they're still digging during the day).

Q4 report is up: VLW

35% as of end of 2024. Not sure how much they could have done for Q1 2025 but hopefully close to 40%.

Project schedule now says it will finish June 2028. Honestly not bad given the scale of this project and considering Covid, supply chain issues, inflation, skilled labour shortage and just how massive the project is.

So that’s 6 months behind then currently. Guess we’ll see where it lands

Rumour mill from inside ETS.

The city will take over operation of the low floor line, all of it.
Just ops or all of O&M?

Guessing this would involve the City buying out TransEd if just operations. But if it's essentially to remove TransEd from the picture fully, I would not be surprised if parties within the consortium just want to walk away and move on. No way it's been a financially successful venture given the disaster that was construction.

Woah. I’d be fascinated to know the financials and legal side of all of that if true.
What does this mean financially? Is the city going to have to spend money it keeps on claiming it doesn't have to do this? If so voters could be p*ssed.

I would suspect that ETS would be taking over cause the private operator would walk away. effectively jingle mail the keys to the system a la the 80’s

I just wanted to share a rumour coming from within ets.

No decision has been made yet but one thing is clear that they want to have one operator for entire line it could either be ETS or Transed . There is no cross training as of yet only TPO s from ETS side work on valley line will see what happens in future
