The problem is they plough the sidewalks first (which is in theory good) but then the road ploughs created all the snowbanks blocking all the intersections. Plus some of the sidewalk ploughing was rushed leaving tire tracks with half a foot of snow. Many major roads still have snow blocking half the curb lane slowing down buses and creating traffic. They really need some accountability.

Out of.curuousity, Is it the city or TTC who's responsible to clear the stops? In Ottawa OC Transpo has it's own team for that

It's slipping my mind where I saw the details, but I believe the target date is one of either: March 22/23rd, or March 29/30th.

Definitely not the beginning of March though.

Do we have any insight into whether the work on the 510 streetcar ROW is completed, or will it be delayed again?

They've been putting up the new stickers since December.

With a couple of thousand stops that need to be changed, they can't well do them all overnight, right?

Dan
Dan: I am certainly not complaining about the TTC putting up stickers for the new lines - which will probably be in operation sometime later in 2025 - BUT I certainly AM complaining about their inability to put stickers on the stops for lines that are running NOW.

There are 501 stickers on all (?) stops on Wellington and York - where the 501 has not been seen since early November - and NO 503 stickers though the 503 returned to its regular route there in early November. (There ARE stickers for the 503 on King west of York (where it no longer runs).

Having routes identified on stop poles is a very good idea that most transit systems seem able to cope with, the TTC with its silo mentality seems incapable of coordinating route (or route number) changes with sending someone out to adjust the stop signage. This is hardly a highly skilled job or one requiring line closures so should be easy to do. It is, sadly, symptomatic of the TTC that it is simply not done for months.

Anyone know how exactly the public washrooms will reopen at Warden?

If I'm not mistaken they are currently being torn down.

From what it looks like from the drawings the existing bus bays are being removed however the section that has the washrooms is going to remain as a bridge over the new bus loop and will have a few elevators in it. https://strasmanarch.com/project/ttc-warden-station/

The Washrooms are in the bus bays.

They were beside Bays 1 and 2 on the north side and were between the Warden Avenue exit corridor and bus waiting area.

The screens are showing them reopening Friday which isn't possible.

They are removing the bus platforms and the stairs not the other structure that they go down from. If you look at the pictures on the site I linked you can see the existing "bridge" over the new bus platforms looking exactly as it does now.

I haven't been to it recently but from when I was last there it looked like they were building an elevator shaft were bus bay 1 exitied.

They are currently demolishing the bus terminal and have bobcats on the roof of it.

I'll see if I can get a chance to see what I can tomorrow sometime unless anyone else has some current pictures. It's possible that they could be creating space for elevator shafts as from the drawings on the site I posted before it looks like the existing waiting area is staying but is being reperosed as a bridge over the new bus loop that will be built under it and use the old entrances and exits for buses from the road. https://strasmanarch.com/project/ttc-warden-station/

I went by Warden station today and here's some pictures that I took.

There is a fairly small digger on the roof but it looks like it might be there for something a lot smaller than removing the existing building. From the looks of the renderings it might be there for prep work for a future green roof on the existing building.

This shows the work being done to remove the existing bus bays.

The work being done here looks like it's for a new elevator from street level for the temporary bus loop and eventually for the pickup and drop off area .

I am at Warden now and the bobcats seem to be removing the roofing materials.

I can't see them reusing any of the existing structure given the age and other concerns related to it.

Keep in mind they shut the power off to the bays, walled it off and closed off the Warden Avenue exit.

If they were reusing the existing structure they wouldn't have gone through so much work to decommision it and make it safe for demolition.

Also remember that the structure is 60 years old now. After so long it's going to need alot of upkeep.

That's such a nice looking terminal

I wish other cities like mine would learn to follow the TTC's example and give as much investment into the bus terminals as they do the rail station attached to them 🙏. It's such an afterthought in most other places.

A new TTC CEO could come “pretty soon,” according to the transit agency’s interim executive, and it may be a familiar face.
Interim TTC CEO Greg Percy said he’s applying to stick around as head of Canada’s largest public transit system, and that a decision from the TTC board on his replacement, or a contract extension, should come soon.
“The process is unfolding and I’m not going to tell you what the outcome is because I don’t know,” Percy said at a press conference Thursday.
