Nearly all the metrics are a lie, who cares if a bus leaves the terminal on time if everyone on it (or waiting for it) is 20 mins late halfway through the route?

I waited at pioneer villege for the 60, it skipped the station because it was behind and my bus that comes every 12 mins had a half hour gap!

I'm very unhappy with TTC's decision to reduce service on the 40 Dundas bus - it already had abysmal service levels (the part between Jane and Kipling). There is no North/South transit in the area of Prince Edward (to connect to Bloor), with new condos, townhouses, seniors homes, and many more units to come in this area, and virtually no alternative. So now, the option is to wait 30 minutes or walk 15 to get to Royal York to maybe wait another 10 for a bus. Maybe they should reroute 55 and have it return to the subway via Dundas/Prince Edward, instead of doubling up on Jane (which already has its own service).

Send an email to your Councillor! Make the case, you might get it reversed by the November Board period.

I would assume the current Deputy CEO will.be the interim. He recently.came from YRT.

It's been almost a year since they wanted to get rid of Rick Leary. So let's not lie and pretend they're doing a global search for the next CEO. They should know by now who they want.

They'll do a song and dance about the process they followed to mask it

I've been told they'll be a real headhunt......but.... I'm not sure how many of the best will be interested........

Interim people can be very important as they can be specifically hired to do 'unpleasant things' so that a new hire can come in with at least some of the old problems (i.e. people!) already removed. No sure that the TTC Board are as 'strategic' as this but we will see, soon.

With 33 years of public service experience under his belt, Macgregor knew one does not walk away from a role as important as CAO without a good bit of planning. Macgregor said he knew the current term of York council was going to be his last. He just had to wrestle with what would be the appropriate time to leave.

Sometimes you just know when the time is right for a change. For Bruce Macgregor, that time was at the end of June when he announced that after 16 years he would be stepping down as the CAO of the Regional Municipality of York.
Macgregor did not make this decision on a whim. He knew a while ago that 2023 was the right time to step away.
With 33 years of public service experience under his belt, Macgregor knew one does not walk away from a role as important as CAO without a good bit of planning. Macgregor said he knew the current term of York council was going to be his last. He just had to wrestle with what would be the appropriate time to leave. My source, was 100% sure it was not Bruce..............so that's curious. I'm doing some digging.

Ya know, my only issue w/this.............the last time they recruited someone from York Region to the Deputy CEO role, and made him 'Acting' CEO when the last guy exited...........it was Rick Leary.

Also, York region has underfunded transit relative to the other suburban municipalities running much poorer service.

Bruce has been in the Deputy CEO role for coming up on a year already, so that makes the most sense short-term.
