Two of these are planned 'track work' closures but..

The Sheppard Yonge to Bayview is the dumbest one. Does that line not support bidirectional running? Getting on a bus for one stop?
My recollection is that the Spadina Extension was the first line built with provision for isolating power and signals to one side. It would be interesting to know if it was ever considered for Sheppard and if so how much money was “saved” by “value-engineering” it out

In hindsight it would make sense to have that capability.

I'm expecting to hear about a "go slow" soon because of the heat. In some European cities, they painting the rails white can reduce their temperature up to a few degrees Celsius, decreasing the effects of thermal expansion and deformation on long sections. Wonder if Toronto can get paint in the operating budget to do that here?

Which begs the question what's the point of all of these weekend and early night closures if they aren't fixing anything? Why inconvenience people when no progress is being made?
Most likely? The scope of the work is such that they can't get it done even with evening and weekend closures.

Sorry everyone, did we think things were getting better?

Not only did they not even come close to finishing all the repairs from the track geometry study last year, but the track geometry study from this year resulted in even more RSZs. This is a laughable joke:

And they just finished early shut downs on the University side.

Edit: My bad, I guess it was just on the weekend, cause it was closed from St Andrew to St. Clair again last night.
