LOL - if one is so obsessed with chicken wings as to want to drive that far to get it, then there is something feeble about it all indeed!

Especially when you don't have a car. I guess I could rent one for the day... if they're really good wings...

That far? It's a grand total of an 8-minute drive for me. Feeble would be going all the way to Toronto just for chicken wings...though, from the looks of it, that doesn't deter some.:rollin

Chris:

LOL - you know what though - I think you're right in saying that driving all the way downtown for wings is a feeble as well :lol

Well...I went for Gretzky's wings on Sunday. They still taste amazing but they were nowhere near as breaded and plump as normal. |I

Still a treat though...

Hey, has anybody tried Buffalo Chicken Fingers at places like The Loose Moose and Cassey's? Mmmm... :)

If they are really good stop by and pick me up on your way there. I don't have a car either and we will need a car to fit in with the locals. :)

Orwells on Islington and Bloor has 35 cent Sunday Chicken wings ... they are quite good too.

And you can get there by subway if anyone's interested.

Team Critter, you were right on the money. I had Gretzky's wings for lunch today... some of the best I've ever had! The mild ones especially kicked ass. Thanks for the suggestion! I'll definitely be back for more!

Also, I did some exploring around the neighbourhood and man is it ever bulking up with condos... very impressive. Parking lots are disappearing and more people are moving into the neighbourhood. The Entertainment District is looking up... very nice to see.

Aha...another satisfied Gretzky's wing customer. :D

Also, for those who didn't already know, Gretzky's was recently renovated and they changed the menu (it's a little classier now) but they removed wings from the list of appetizers (I have no idea why?!?!). You CAN obviously still order them though.

I think they are probably on the menu upstairs on their patio and possibly at the bar.

i think the best in the city is a tie between sneaky d's and cassidy's (little irish pub at danforth and dawes)

duff's just doesn't do it for me. i found my wings were overcooked, not that meaty, and the sauce wasn't really flavourful. tho maybe i just went on a bad night

I mentioned Cassie's buffalo chicken strips in an earlier post...

I had them again tonight...and they changed the chicken and the sauce! Let's just say I'm not the happiest person right now. >:

The chicken was too dry and the sauce was changed to the typical buffalo style wing sauce you can buy at any supermarket. What an upset.

Loose Moose still has my vote for the best hot buffalo chicken strips in the city.

I have to add my vote to Duffs...the wings are huge, the sauce is fantastic, and they have 7 different heat levels...the hot is actually hot, unlike most places where you get the 'suicide' and it's barely mild.

Correction...They have 8 heat levels: Mild, Mild-Medium, Medium, Medium-Hot, Hot, Super Hot, Death, and Armageddon. I had one Armageddon wing and I was dying...although according to their 'top eaters' board some guy ate 52 in one sitting. That's sort of gross.

I used to live in the Bayview/Eglinton area...

Duff's is part of a chain from Buffalo, apparently. They are as close to BuffaloWings as you can get here.

Haven't been there in a couple years, but McSorley's (a block or two south of Duff's) had really nice wings too. Really big and tasty, for a good price.

Duffs has large wings? Not the lone time I went there. They were small, but I prefer small wings. When I'm in that area I prefer to go to that Mexican restaurant that is a couple of stores down.
