About 10 years ago when I was looking to buy a condo, I checked out a unit in a building on King, just east of Spadina. I think it’s next to the Bulk Barn. The 1 BR had 1 bathroom, not ensuite (understandable for a 1 BR, as you don’t want your guest to go through your bedroom to use the bathroom). What makes it terrible is there’s a huge glass partition between the bathroom and bedroom, with no blinds. So a guest using the bathroom can see your bedroom, and conversely if a guest is taking a leak or dump in the bathroom, you can see it from the bedroom! I guess the idea behind the design was for you to soak in the bathtub while enjoying views of the city through your bedroom window. At the time, there was no high rise across the street, so it could work (without addressing the problem of having a guest using the bathroom). But now if you do so (with your bedroom window blinds up), people living in the condo across the street would be treated to a view of you in the buff.

I think the condo was built around 2002-2007, but even back then they must have known there would be taller buildings across the street. Maybe they were targeting exhibitionists?
 
Someone sitting on a crapper is a normal function. People do weirder stuff in the main areas of condos.
 
The attention to design detail on the facade is generally excellent with the multi-tier massing, the dynamic grid pattern on the hotel portion with the delightful light orange accents, and the distinctive balconies arranged quite nicely on the top portion. I wish we'd see this sort of project more often. It makes the city's built form more interesting and satisfying.

The actual fit and finish. There's missing trim everywhere I look, bent and dented panels, nothing seems to line up with anything else, lots of weird details wherever you'd see one trade interfacing with another.

You can sort of make it look OK in photos from a block away, but it's rough when you get up close to it
