So glad they're keeping that 50s base. It would have been a terrible loss if they'd destroyed it. I realize the interior will end up at the city dump but I've resigned myself to the reality that Toronto doesn't preserve interiors. At least we'll have a few exterior walls as a nod to what once stood there.
And that similar taller building directly to the north is another gem. It's the 2nd best looking building lining University Avenue after Canada Life. Shangri-La is 3rd.
