Came across these. Quite a reminder of what we came from (I wanted to say not too long ago but…)

I haven't been to the new market, but I used to love going on Sunday mornings to the flea market in the old market. Over the years, I bought many different things. I also attended the Saturday farmers market (although not as much), which was awesome as these pictures attest. Does the new market host the Sunday flea market and Saturday farmers' market?

As discussed many times on UT the new Market does NOT host the Sunday 'antiques' market. It remains in The Tent and over the summer is open on both Saturdays & Sundays. However, the Tent will (soon?) be removed and the City is moving on negotiating contracts for the regular use of the new Market on other days. I heard that the operators of the current 'antiques' Market are interested as is the operator of the former one - who moved her operation to Etobicoke (?) several years ago after some sort of disagreement with the City. Yes, one might wonder why the City did not get these leases sorted out years ago, but then you might also wonder why the 'coffee shop' space on the main floor and the 'restaurant space' on the 1st floor remain empty and why the planned "Seniors' Centre' is not operating. Corporate Real Estate Management MAY know about building maintenance but they clearly are not too on top of leasing!

Tenants can't be clamouring for the space they leased by the date specified on their lease then you have no tenants.

The building is literally covered in bright orange panels. But I agree that the art does give it something it's missing, namely a touch of playfulness and spontaneity.

Just once I’d love to see a new build with some awesome graffiti strategically placed
