I noticed yesterday that there is a New(ish) FOR LEASE sign on the lower building attached to the main (former) Toronto Star Building - on QQE side just west of Freeland St. I thought the whole complex was up for demo??

...since they haven't released anything since their last announcement, I am assuming thy are not ready to go forward with this including the demo...and likely won't be for awhile. Or at least until the market is more robust here for a more concrete directions.

Wonder what goes up faster - office space at 1 Yonge or The Hub a block away….

If I recall correctly, that sign was up months before the demolition was announced, and was for the vacant retail space that the financial services centre used to occupy.

It is surprising that no plans have been released that show the updated vision for this site. Does anybody have any insight into what is going on behind the scenes?

296m, so just short of a supertall. 2400 units and over 200 hotel units.. a beast. This would be the largest condo building in the city by a significant margin in terms of unit count.

That actually looks really cool holy setbacks and the brownie bronze exterior will definitely create some variation on the site only issue I have is surrounding sky Tower with all of these buildings that just come to the 300 m height will make the building look less planned and just stuck in there

If only they had this foresight in the initial planning phases - this could have been a “The Well” level of development….shame they didn’t take advantage.

Drop the balconies, and I am not convinced that corner plaza is a good idea without more sheltering.

I am glad they have decided to add some colour.
