I just realized that this building will have more floors than any building in NYC and behind on only Willis Tower in Chicago for most floors in NA. I am sure it is not a revelation to most here, but it was to me

Actually this is a Revelation to me as I never thought about the fact that majority of super talls in the states are office buildings which would have higher floor to ceiling heights so they can hit larger heights without having as many floors thanks for making me think today

I moved Downtown, from North York, in 2001. I gotta admit, the skyline has almost completely changed. That said, I don't hate it and I don't mind the design of this building. At least it's not another generic square or rectangular building.

Yep. NYC residential supertalls are generally restricted by FSI (~floor count), not height BUT the buyers want high views. As a result most of billionaire row has 12+ foot ceilings. Council did quash the idea of a 10 floor building sitting over a 300m tall lobby though: ceiling heights cannot be infinite anymore.
