Did something hinky happen with WT? I feel like they’d been doing so well, but now action has slowed, there’s that weird wait just for development on the new library.
For public infrastructure they always seem to have something big on the go which gives me confidence in the organization... but they used to put everything in YouTube to be able to keep up with what they are doing and they have become a lot more closed which is a bad sign. I used to be able to watch the regular board sessions and design review sessions and keep up to date year round. I do worry that their feeling that they don't need to keep up that level of public engagement is a bad sign. It was because the public felt so involved that back when the Ford's tried to push their own agenda that take over / re-org didn't go anywhere because the support of Waterfront Toronto was so great.

Yes, WT used to be far more open. Their decision to only post AODA compliant documents on the WT website is VERY annoying as it is now necessary to specifically ask them to send you documents like the Board Books and Committee and Design Panel Books. All the older docs (like all the earlier Reports and meeting info) are now hidden and hard to ask for if you do not know they exist.

I realise it is simply too hard to make all older docs AODA compliant but other governmental bodies continue to make all documents before some date available (even if not AODA compliant) and then make all docs after that date compliant. AODA is a good thing but it is really not designed to make information LESS available!

The reasoning I got when I asked a waterfront Toronto person about it at an event was that it (the YouTube videos) was just a temporary thing during COVID 🫤. A shame because watching the design review panels is a big part in what got me interested in the whole project and even what helped me choose my masters. Like @dsc said, they said they'd still give the recordings if you ask specifically but you have to know exactly what to ask for and keep on top of their calendar yourself. So not very practical...
