What's going on in the middle of the street? Was that a streetcar line, are they putting an entrence in the middle of the street?

that was the old war monument, was removed and cleared for more work area for the project. Could be wrong but i think it's related to line 1 interchange work

Fun fact: If you go from Osgoode to Queen, it takes ~300m of total walking distance to get to the train and get back up to street level, vs 500m if walking at the surface.

Not that I'm aware of, at least for these downtown stations. There are placeholders for art installation at Exhibition concourse though.

I think London has a few like this, but it's actually closer to walk at street level, or at least faster.

Are the heritage walls still sitting on Simcoe there? Last I checked a few weeks ago they were still sitting there yet to be moved off-site

They are not moving it off site, the east facing wall will live just south on Simcoe st for the entirety of construction. And the north facing wall is reinforced and protected in place.
