Shoring on one side of the future vent shaft is done. Piles are driven on the other side.
This is a boring update but to me it's one step closer to returning some of this space to pedestrians. The shaft will be done years ahead of the station and this should become sidewalk again, making the closures slightly more bearable.
They did push the hoarding back about 10ft to reroute pedestrians.
I asked the guy in the background how the excavation was going: "We haven't reached Australia yet". Crikey!!
