I lived half a block from the station location 40 years ago, in what everyone called South Riverdale then. Is Riverside an historic name?
Riverside is the BIA’s name. For a long time, they were the Queen Broadview Village BIA, until they rebranded.

A lot of people, but not everyone though, would agree with you that the neighbourhood name is South Riverdale.

It’s literally on the border between Riverside and Leslieville. And with Leslieville being the more recognizable neighborhood why would it not be named that.
Because it’s NOT in Leslieville. Same argument as all the others. The station is literally in the Riverside community of Riverdale and its location has nothing to do with Leslieville. If its location were at Carlaw or Leslie maybe….

Was surprised to see a huge section of the line missing over Queen St E as well the bridge for it. This most likely will be done when the Queen St station is built

It really sucks to live in Thorncliffe Park right now. There's so much traffic on Laird, Overlea and on Don Mills towards Eglinton, the only decent way out of that place is south onto Don Mills. Who even wants to go into the older part of East York? Then again, Thorncliffe Park is a planned community, kids and elders don't really need to leave the area.
