Photos taken today, Friday (July 25). Since I posted last Friday, more movement on top, as some of the corner scaffolds were raised for the final stretch of concrete pouring, and some more glass is visible. The last of the inside corner blue scaffolds have been removed, allowing the corner scaffolds used in connection with pouring the floor corners to rise. So, the SE corner, which is pouring level 82, I think, now has the scaffolds in place, raised above the final mechanical section, with the NE corner scaffolds going up as I took photos today. (I know "scaffolds" is the wrong term, but hey..) As well, as someone mentioned before, the south facing scaffolds behind the crane were removed a few weeks ago, allowing the external elevators to be extended to the top. And that has now happened, at least partly. Below, the black Rail Climbing Systems installing the skin show some movement, with the north RCS joining the east one at level 65, the west one still at 64 since last week, and the south mini-RCS up to around level 60.
Managed to capture something I don't think I've ever captured before in the 10 billion shots, give or take a dozen, I've taken of the construction of this tower: the actual raising of one of the blue scaffolds into a higher work position! So some of that here as one section of the NE corner scaffolds was raised. As for the photos today, starting with the view from Yonge and Dundas, then moving up to around Yonge and Charles. Looking up the crane with the new section of rail for the elevator visible, taken from the alley behind Balmuto, then over to the view by Holt Renfrew. That's followed by the 3/4 view from Cumberland, east of Bay, showing the latest glimpses of the top NW corner and the north and west RCSs. Then, the view from the NE corner of Yonge and Bloor, and from a little east of there. A tight shot follows where you can see the NE blue corner scaffolds still below the mechanical section, with the SE corner scaffolds already raised, to the left in the photo. The following shots show the crane cable attached (in the lower corner), then several shots showing one of the scaffolds hoisted up, from Charles, and down Church to Wellesley. Finally, the view from around Queen's Park to the SW, and closer to Bloor.
From October, 2020, as above-ground construction started in earnest at The One (1 Bloor W.) in Toronto. More or less a weekly photo usually taken on a Friday, with some gaps during early-on construction hiatuses. The initial photographs are from 2015, during demolition at the site, 2018, during...
