Here's a photo from today, Tuesday (July 15). A single image, from Dundas and Sorauren in the west end... looks like the blue scaffolds at the top, south face by the crane, are now gone. Happened to be photographing Friday when the first of the 3 scaffolds on the south face were removed, now the other 2 are gone. Also, one of the 2 inset scaffolds from the SW corner are gone, now we see just one, to the immediate left of the crane in the photo. Presumably the scaffolds need to go before the corners can be completed, then on to the top. Can't see the east side so don't know if anything on that side is gone!

I wasn't a fan of the Christmas tree pattern (I preferred the X grid) but gotta admit that's quite nice when seen from the corners. Hopefully it attracts a hotel chain that makes use of the base for a lobby. This part of Bloor Street doesn't need more retail, it needs hospitality to activate the corner day and night.
I'm pretty sure some drastic reconstruction would be needed in order to allow for the ground floor to connect with the section already portioned off for the hotel.

Not really, you just need to open up the west side to the existing elevator bank.

Yup, it's right there. The west wall is "soft" and can easily be taken down to consolidate the space into a grand lobby and resto-bar about the size of the Sheraton's downtown. There's support for interior trees with irrigation, could be quite fancy. Not sure what hotel brand could work here but it's Yorkville, there's bound to be a good fit for a prestigious hotel. Maybe the Rosewood?

Here are a couple of telephoto shots I took of One Bloor West over the past couple of days; first from outside OISE yesterday evening, then from Sankofa Square this morning; note how the south side scaffolds have been taken down for extending the external elevator shaft to the highest floors, as @jer1961 mentioned a few posts ago (the east side scaffolds still remain in second photo)
