Is Apple officially out of the ground retail space?
I think that was the news, I will be shock if Tridel is not trying to get them back tho. Yorkville is still a really ideal location and that space is custom-designed for Apple basically. I think Apple can get a really good deal here, since they redrew their original funding - they can probably invest much less and get the same space.

Obviously I am not accounting for the business miss from not having a store there for 2+ years - but they aren't too many spaces they can leverage in that area so it is basically sunk cost.

Nintendo has plans to open a San Francisco store in Union Square later this year.

Now, it would be great for Nintendo to open a store in The One once the skyscraper is done, especially given the controversies involving a certain Oompa Loompa and the Manifest Destiny.

I know Yonge street slopes upwards but this thing has to be taller than aura now, the slope shouldn’t be making this look that much taller 🤷‍♂️
Looks to be on level 79-80 now. This graphic, (zoomed-in from SkyscraperPage.com) shows the height now to be approximately 281-284 metres, the arrow on the left is the floor they are currently working on:

When Tridel was announced as the new developer there was a big emphasis in the press release about how the owners had been searching for a developer who had a long history and was reliable, which seemed to me to be a message of "Look Apple, we got someone you can trust this time, please come back"

Wow so that would make it Canada’s second tallest skyscraper based off height from base to tip, I figured that was the case..

I'd be surprised if they aren't in this space when the building is complete. I think the uncertainty in ownership and delays has kept Apple from being open about staying there. And they most likely have stronger non-disclosure agreements to keep things quiet.

I've said it here before, but this was a location Apple wanted and had a part in designing. On the flip side, it's a location that's gonna be harder to find another tenant for, especially with the changing demographics in the neighbourhood and luxury slowly seeking greener pastures at Yorkdale. They'd be stupid not to know the ball is in their court, and can get a much better deal on the whole thing. The trick is avoiding all the interim kerfuffle to come out the other side.

Where is this RAMSA talk coming from? You seem to be the only person mentioning the fact he initially wanted to go with them instead of Foster.
He mentions it in a promotional video (circa 2018 I believe)
Taste is subjective, but if someone claims this tower is uglier than Social and 365 Church, I’d suggest they go for a cornea transplant …
I think beauty is objective to an extent, and 365 Church is proof of this.
