At 4350 Steeles Avenue East, just steps from the Milliken GO Station, a new vision is taking shape for the heart of Milliken where Markham meets Toronto. This 23-acre site, once home to the beloved Market Village, will become a dynamic, mixed-use community designed for modern living, working, and connecting.
The proposed development is a high-density, mixed-use project within a Protected Major Transit Station Area (PMTSA). It aligns with provincial, regional, and municipal planning objectives for intensification, diverse housing supply, and transit-focused growth. Supported by comprehensive technical studies, the plan optimizes existing infrastructure, enhances connectivity, and advances Markham’s vision for a vibrant, walkable, and sustainable urban hub.
The community will feature eight architecturally distinct buildings. Tower heights will range from 15 to 50 storeys. Vibrant podium levels will include shops, cafés, and community spaces, creating a seamless blend of residential, office, retail, and public gathering areas connected by pedestrian-friendly streets and green spaces.
Transit-Oriented Communities
The proposed Milliken TOC is part of the Government of Ontario’s Transit-Oriented Communities program to build vibrant, complete communities around transit stations. This initiative aims to bring housing, jobs, retail, and public amenities closer together to create more convenient and connected lifestyles.
Through this program, the Milliken TOC will introduce a wide range of new housing options to all income levels, create local employment opportunities, and bring shops, dining, and services within walking distance. It will also provide attractive public spaces for gathering and recreation, as well as direct access to the Milliken GO Station and nearby streets.
The project is being developed in collaboration with the City of Markham, York Region, Infrastructure Ontario, on behalf of the Province of Ontario, and The Remington Group, ensuring it meets provincial objectives while reflecting the needs and character of the local community.
