Paramount+ are casting for a Canadian version of the Jersey Shore, with filming expected to start this summer!

I am hoping they don't cast Plush or anyone else with a "Toronto Accent". The whole Weston Road thing has been done several times over.

Some studio should have a camera crew follow me around for my own show. I swear it would be far more interesting than this unwatchable schlock.

Err, what about Weston Road?

Most of the wannabe Toronto rappers claim to be from Rexdale or the Weston Road area.

They usually have their 15 minutes of fame in their local community or think they are the next Drake based on social media or some guy walking around with their music blaring on a speaker. These guys are not the next Marshall Mathers and quite frankly, make Toronto look bad with their wannabe gangster attitudes.

I can absolutely see them highlighting the Toronto slang for views since the original guido culture has been passe for a while now

Steve Paikin is leaving TVO's The Agenda after 19 years. He will remain as a part-time TVO contributor.

I have a friend who worked for TVO who had nothing but good things to say about Paikin. Despite his high salary (as per the Sunshine List), he donated all his speaking gig fees back to the broadcaster.

Not only is Steve leaving, but the show is ending this summer. I wasn't terribly fond of the other presenters, so it's not a surprise that the show is ending. This will leave a big hole in current affairs programming—I felt no other show on television delved into topics as deeply as this one.

On a personal note, I've met Steve a few times, both online and in person, and I have nothing but good things to say. He's a class act and will be missed—even if we can still follow along through other mediums.

Sound slike there were a huge number of layoffs yesterday at TheScore, which was a sports media business but recently leaned heavily into sports betting.

It's reported at least 75 were let go and the final tally may be up to 100.

Which reminds me we are coming up to that July 1 time where Bell and Rogers dump bucket loads of staff from TV, radio, and cable each year.

Rogers Sportsnet sent out messages today that their streaming platform cost will go up by 30% starting in September for the basic and premium options. For the annual premium subscription option (which includes most out of market games) it will increase from $250 to $325.
So if you want to stream Jays games and don't have cable, prepare to shell out for it. And this comes when fewer Jays and Leafs games are available in the package because they have sold off some game rights to Amazon.

So you pay 30% more to get 30% less.

Since we're burying Rogers today........which really is a fine past time, seriously..

It would appear they have quietly laid off 1,000 staff.

Rogers/Fido also bricked all their clients using 3G today. I'm one of them, who uses an unaffiliated phone (and don't use 3G). I talked to them yesterday (Wednesday) and woke up today to a text telling me I no longer had access. I wasted a lot of time on getting this resolved, and am super pissed off. I have my home internet/TV/ Phone (because of bundling), plus my cell and I had to waste time with this. Gah, am I mad!

He seems like a class act. It's a shame TVO is losing him. I am among the few thousand who regularly watches The Agenda on YouTube and it seems pretty valuable for longer form discussions on Ontario specific issues. Oddly most Ontarians don't seem to care
